BAFTA 2011 nominees

The BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Film Awards Nominees have been announced for 2011.

British period drama The King's Speech came out with the most nominations, getting 14, followed by Black Swan with 12 and Inception with 9.

Personally, I was very happy to see Nick Whitfield nominated in the 'Outstanding Debut By A British Writer, Director Or Producer' category for his excellent film, Skeletons, and Pete Postlethwaite for Supporting Actor in The Town.

    I think Nick Whitfield will probably lose out to Gareth Edwards for Monsters. Not sure who's going to win Supporting Actor though, they're all really strong contenders.

  3. I'm hearing very positive things about 'Four Lions'. It received a very limited release in Montréal last spring (if memory serves me well. Oddly enough, the local press was not especially kind to the movie) before I had heard anything about it, so my interest wasn't there. With so much buzz surrounding the movie now (what with Bafta nominations and all), I'm kicking myself for having missed it in theatres.

  4. I haven't seen Four Lions yet, although a friend has and she really enjoyed it. I think the feedback for it was mostly positive from the UK.
